Neck Back and Spine Pain
In September 2018, the National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded funding to Ohio State’s Spine Research Institute to establish a Site focusing on comprehensive approaches to prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

Our Site is now one of the many Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers (I/UCRCs) that exists nationwide but the only one focusing on musculoskeletal health. I/UCRCs are long-term partnerships between industry, research institutions, and government. The NSF invests in these to promote research, contribute to U.S. scientific knowledge, enhance the engineering and science workforces, and facilitate technology transfer to industry.

Our Site is part of the Center for Disruptive Musculoskeletal Innovations (CDMI), a collaboration of several universities that works to manage musculoskeletal diseases through injury/illness prevention and disability management.
