A diverse group of industry advisers, faculty, and researchers gathered April 11-12, 2019, at The Ohio State University, for the Spring Symposium of the Center for Disruptive Musculoskeletal Innovations (CDMI).

The CDMI is an NSF-funded Industry-University Cooperative Research Center, of which Ohio State become a site in 2018.  It represents an exciting integration of injury prevention, healthcare economics, biomedical science, and clinical medicine.

Industry advisors (see list here) collaborate with researchers from OSU, the University of California-San Francisco, and the University of Toledo, to target novel strategies and technologies that will decrease injuries, lower healthcare costs of injuries that do occur, and improve the management and life of patients with musculoskeletal disease.

This meeting served to update the group on currently funded research projects (read brief descriptions here) and chart the path for future research topics.  Symposium attendees also were given a tour of OSU's Spine Research Institute.
